I think visual basic would allow you to achieve your goals more easily. vb6 is the best to use, you can create extended functions to their tools to improve their use-ability. If you have bought microsoft visual studio package, you'll find it with that.

I never did something like that, but probably I would look how to use the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) that is supported by the majority of routers, or maybe for home devices the new UPnP stuff can also provide some info. Hope I'm right and it helps you a bit to find the way

i use no threads in this program, but i use keyboard hooks, is it possible that key_events can couse this problems. cause one user told me that if he has this problem and is pressing "ESC" afterwards the problem is solved ?

thanks, i've already done that, all this values remain more or less the same. 150 handles, 150 user objects, 6 threads, 300 gdi. memory is growing a little bit, but not as much that this could be the problem. the other problem is that i cannot reproduce this problem on one of my machines, but some of my costumers can do that. ok i can ask them to send me there resources if this problem occurs. any other ideas, dll's, i've static linked the mfc libs.

I havn't looked at the example, but a guess would be to have each of the dialogs in your tab control to inherit from a base class one which provides a virtual function DoUpdate() or some such. This gets overriden in each of the actual dialog class's. Now to update the dialog in a different tab, you get your parent (the tab control) to give you a pointer to the required one, using this base class pointer. You then call DoUpdate on it. To switch tot he other dialog, you should just call SetCurSel() or the equivalent on the tab control.
