US Central time zone. 50% at least are sleeping here too. It's even higher in the government and media.

Curious question -
Do you OneNote?I've used it before at work and it has a lot of features. However isn't it tied to the Microsoft eco system? Does it exist outside of Windows? I'm a big Notepad++ user, but I also save a lot of notes in a TiddlyWiki for various projects. Anyone else explore TiddlyWiki? https://tiddlywiki.com/

Looking To Write An AppI'd like to see an app that can make sound visible. It might not be a mobile app though. Think along the lines of night vision goggles making infrared visible, but using sound waves and their frequencies instead. Does anything like that already exist?

Breaking News: Windows 8 / 10 calculator removes Natural Log (ln) buttonLuckily, Calc.exe runs fine from early Windows versions if you like that format. I keep another apps folder for just these old app things. I also Like the old, and simpler, PHOTOED.exe. Note you may need a few dlls to go along with them.

The first descent code I wrote in my lifeJust out of college, I wanted to use something from the data structures class so wrote a right-inthreaded binary tree structure by hand to handle a large data set. Each unique number went to it's own leaf with a count. In the end, I could traverse the tree, generating a histogram and various statistics, st dev, etc as desired. I think it was in HP Basic predating the PC era at our workplace.

Why Jonny Can't CodeI think the reason might be something different entirely. I've noticed that the Jonnys of today have no interest, curiosity, fascination with, or drive to explore computers and how they work. Of course they use technology voraciously. This may be a generational thing. Today, they are so swamped with technology and take it all for granted, and don't even see it as a field worth pursuing. I may date myself, but having grown up when there were no PCs at schools, and getting my first introduction to them in college has left me with a life long appreciation for them, and subsequently writing code. I see the same at work (Not an IT company), those with the most interest and drive are older. Of course the same young generation doesn't read, for example books by Ray Kurzweil such as The Singularity is Near. Those few Jonnys who have that interest and drive are still there, creating the future companies and products. Think Google, Facebook, etc...

Keyboard Washing QuestionI ended up with a keyboard that didn't work once. The user 'fessed up that they spilled hot cocoa on it. I did take it completely apart, more as an investigative exercise. Of course noting exactly how it went back together, too. Including all of the plastic sheets and electrical connects. I washed, rinse and let dry for several days. It worked and looked like new once I put it all back together. Was it worth my time? I don't know, but now I have a (clean) spare keyboard. pontellen
