Our next door neighbour has taken to posting chocolate bars through our letter box; about a couple of dozen so far (mainly Mars bars plus a few Crunchies, Wispas and a twix). This is on top of bowls and pans of dhal plus other food stuffs. They are an odd couple but she has a heart of gold. They've only been there a few months and won't be there long as the place they are renting is on the market. They don't do this for anyone else in the street.

I don't want to start a political discussionConvincing though the arguments might seem, I personally haven't had enough of experts :-D I think I'll wait until a scientist tells me of a cure rather than listen to a politician, a pastor or some bloke on the web

I don't want to start a political discussionI tend to side with the science in these things

I don't want to start a political discussionThere was a good discussion about this on the Skeptics' Guide to the Universe podcast, this week (SGU episode 768[^]). They referred to this article (COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic has a natural origin[^]) It cited several reasons why the virus was not man-made

Coronavirus has changed my behaviourI'll be borrowing that line

Just a silent minute:sigh: Robin Ince tweeted that instead of a minute's silence, we should all talk about him without deviation, hesitation or repetition. I thought that was brilliant

I just had to have a bit of a moan to someone:thumbsup: well done!

I just had to have a bit of a moan to someoneAre we the people that you moaned to or did you give someone local a bit of verbal? :)

Exit to BrexitHadn't seen that. I think there's a long way to go yet. May's bowing to pressure and resigning might cause some brexiteers to back her vote for political convenience but I don't see how that can be said to materially change the deal on offer which no-one actually likes.
-
Exit to BrexitWe're not out of the woods, yet and there is still a very real danger that we could bomb out without a deal. Even if if we do come to our senses and pull back from the brink by revoking Article 50 or at least giving the people another vote, a lot of damage has already been done

Yesterday we celebrated 7 years of marriageNice one, well done! It sounds terrific. It reminded me of late night rock discos in the 70s in Bolton.... ...and pop! The illusion fades Anyway, here's to the next 7 years!

Status Quo's Rick Parfitt dies aged 68Yes, very saddened by this; my third album was Hello and they were my favourite band for a few years in the mid 70s

BJOTDI get that that last one all the time, why did you put that in after all the jokes?

RIP Dave SwarbrickYes, a terrible shame though going by his chain-smoking habit on stage, he has done very well to make it this far. He even had the experience of reading his own obituary as the Telegraph reported him dead about 10 years ago. I saw him many times with Fairport Convention and playing as a folk duo with both Simon Nicol and Martin Carthy. An excellent musician, sadly missed.

Poison IvyWhilst at college in the late 70s, I went punting (flat bottomed boat driven by long pole) with some mates on a sunny Saturday afternoon. For the purpose of brevity, alcohol was taken and care wasn't and I ended up in the river a number of times so I spent most of the afternoon in my underpants. Later on, I answered a call of nature and hopped over a fallen tree on the bank to find a secluded spot. What I actually found was a ditch full of stinging nettles and there am I, wallowing around in just the bare essentials. Looking back, I think it is fair to say that rash decisions were also taken :-O

Really scary stuff....Yes, stories of the approaching singularity make us all nervous but for real terror, you can't beat a tale of a snake biting the p?n?s of a man squatting over a toilet and 'yanking very hard' Python in Thai toilet gives man nasty shock - BBC News[^]
