    I remember learning to code in 1978. My instructor said I was using too much storage using 4 digit years. Most code wouldn't be running by 2000. In 2000 I was doing the job I hated most debugging code written 22+ years before where the programmer chose to save space and made it necessary to rewrite code to use 4 digit years.

    I remember TRS-80 BASIC. TROFF and TRON to trace program execution. Now I use print statements to include variable values and don't output line numbers except before and after conditional branching. The old days weww so much simpler, but we didn't have enough RAM to work out bugs easily.

    I read these posts to learn something. Unfortunately, flaming others in posts is easier than sharing useful information and ideas. Thanks for not permitting a bad post to silence your replies. Steve Jobs accomplished something that nobody else can ever do. He created Apple. Others can create something like Apple, but not Apple.
