We are thinking about using a code generation tool for our project. Basically, we have a SQL Server database schema and we want to generate a data layer and GUI. Does anybody have any experience with code generation tools like CodeSmith, IronSpeed, TierDeveloper, etc? If so, how well did they work? Am I wasting my time looking for a code generation tool? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Do you have a product that we could sell?Chris, I now understand that now and I apologize. Several people have kindly pointed out the unofficial rules for the forum and I now understand. Since you are a SysAdmin, I assume that you can remove the entire thread. Please feel free to do so. Thanks!

Do you have a product that we could sell?I understand and thanks for the clarification. I really wasn't trying to advertise our existing product, but I could see how it could be interpreted that way.

Do you have a product that we could sell?Marc, Huh? That makes no sense. I didn't say that we do no advertising, just not here. According to your logic, every tool vendor should advertise here because they would get clear ROI, right? Why don't they? Because the cost of advertising is greater than the sales they would receive. Look Marc, if you don't like what I posted, then please just delete it, instead of insulting us. I will no longer provide financial support for this site. Thanks!

Do you have a product that we could sell?Wow! I though this was the lounge and what I posted was reasonable. I guess I have aggravated some people. Marc - Feel free to delete my post if you think it is inappropriate.

Do you have a product that we could sell?Don't get me wrong. I really love this site - it is one of my favorite coding sites. The answer to your question is because advertising is not always the best way to spend marketing dollars. In general, you have to look at Return On Investment (ROI).

New development tool ideas?Hello, We are a small Independent Software Vendor (ISV) and we have recently released our first developer tool. We will continue to enhance this tool. We are looking for the next tool to develop that will help improve software development productivity. Does anybody have any ideas for new tools? Anybody have a problem recently that could be solved by a better tool? I really appreciate any ideas you have - no idea is too silly :). Thanks! Roger Jack http://www.elegancetech.com[^]
