I know everyone has supplied an opinion so l thought l would join in. :) If just need the basics nothing fancy such as creating macros get either google docs or office online l use what's built into onedrive.com. Both do the basics and if your client has internet connection can easily collaborate with your client by sharing the document. Or download document and email. Need a little more? then Librie Office is good can open and save microsoft formats. Ohh and its free you can get hold of a portable version at portableapps.com as well. Its not quite the same as MS Office however it can do 99% of the things you might want to do. HTH

Alternate to MS Office !? -
Looking For A Website TemplateOne other CMS that might be worth consideration is Dot Net Nuke (DNN), the community edition (free) can be found here http://dotnetnuke.codeplex.com/[^]. The wikipedia entry[^] has some basic information and some links. The main site[^] under community and support has some good training material. If you use microsoft then this is worth considering uses SQL server and based on asp.net. There a free modules to cover most requirements, events, forum, document management. All the requirements l have seen in this thread can be met by DNN. There is an active developer community, and plenty of support sites, both free and paid. Personally l have been using it for over 6 years, and have built sites for both community and commercial use. I have used both Wordpress and Joomula, however l still come back to DNN that is more personal preference l suspect :-D.

US Transportation Secretary and Bikes"According to Dft figures 2007 was a particularly bad year resulting in a total of 3 deaths being caused by cyclists – the annual average in the UK is usually less than one – none of those who died were killed on the pavement. In the same year of over 600 pedestrians killed 54 were killed on the pavement by motor vehicles." (see 3rd article) I agree the pavement is for people, whats needed is proper cycle lanes, to that l refer you to Holland excellent example.

US Transportation Secretary and BikesTry a couple of miles on bike and see how you feel :) Yes l agree there are some cyclists who have little regard for other users. On the other hand how many bicyle riders have injured / killed people? Personally l'm far more concerned about car drivers than l am about some dirt or how my arse looks in lycra ;P Oh did mention the car/van/lorry/bus drivers that for some reason don't feel the need to obey the traffic lights and/or will cross half via the pedestrian crossings half via the road, change lanes with no warning and completely block the road / cycle lane, open doors without looking, think they can over take me with 2 inches to spare, regardless of the oncoming traffic / weather conditions etc opps did I start ranting :omg: my bad.... must be these inconsiderate people l share the roads with as a car driver, bike rider, pedestrain :-D
