But the price of borrowing a networked PC at the factory I'm visiting is *very* low! The days of having PCs unable to get on the internet is almost gone. And the world can just wait a few hours, dammit! I did found the last two hotels I stayed in Japan were Free, and ~£2/day for broadband internet. Usually this is done with motion sensors or cameras that look at image deltas. This system sets up an EM field in an area.
