I started teaching myself when I was 23, and 18 months later went for my first job. I was programming a robot at my then current job as a drugs researcher, and had written a chemical purchasing system in Access. This got me interested in programming, and I grabbed a book on MFC, and from then bought a copy of VC++5. It was quite a shock to find out that MFC was a subset of C++, and I was not aware of the WIN32 API for about 3 months! X| Even if you are not paranoid, they might still be watching you.

I've visted the site almost every day for the best part of a year and a half, but I never saw that that slip in. Cheers, Steve :)

I've just connected via my ipaq, and apart from 14.4k speed, the site looks just as cool as it does on my vaio. Which brings me to ask, could we have a CE section? There is not that much that i have found elsewhere.

We use XP to great success - for the first time in years we have shipped products on the date we were told to, within spec! We have now been running it for 6 months, with almost no problems. The biggest obstacle to XP is that is not only for the developers - QA and Product Management have to buy into it totally. The only setbacks have in fact been when people have reverted to the 'old way'. Otherwise it is the best methodology I have ever worked to.

A "Hit" is used to describe a molecule which invokes (or surpressess) a biological response. In the case of this project, the hits are theoretical, based on interaction between the molecules atoms, and those of the protein. The next steps in the lab would be to synthesis the most promising of these hits, and squirt them into a solution of the protein, to check for the response. After that, if it satisfies a huge number of conditions (minor things like toxicity, and if it might make a profit or not) The best part of this project is that the large pharmas throw millions into computational chemistry, and they don't have anything like the power this project has harnessed. Up the Workers! Yours etc. Ex harrassed Drug researcher
