well, i looked up some of my errors in msdn and it said that the main problem of the code is that the person is trying to set two seperate things equal to each other, like-a pointer and a non pointer, or a intiger and a character. one of the main problems as i was going through out figuering this out was... my header file held different info than my cpp, so it made a bunch on errors.... I think i got it, to the point that i wont come across the problem again, unless its a typo "which, as a experienced programmer know (theres always typos :) )" Thanks for your help! ~SilverShalkin :rose:

That's because of the new line (character "\n") that you entered in previous cin, to fix this problem simply add statement "cin.ignore(1, '\n');" before the second use of cin. Example: int x; float y; cin >> x; // first call, fine cin.ignore(1, '\n'); // this is a must cin >> y; // now there's no problem

We be always friends :) I dont try to ask the questions that are to advanced... ill be at a point of understanding somthing then there will be one error in my program,... ill change somthing then i have 15 errors... completly confused ill jump on CP to try to understand what i was doing wrong "that somthing that doesnt feel advanced" and get chewed out because the question was iether really stupid... that somthig of the basics could teach me... or extreamly advanced. But thats life... i progrssing through little wierd projects like you said to do... ask kilowatt if you dont believe me. and im just taking the things that i learn by doing that and aply them to a little game.. to further my understanding of them. The simple answer is that none of that stuff will let you change text colour in a console app. That's why Bill invented Windows! :)

You browse the "outline" of the "books". The window to the left tells you where you are and what "book" you are reading. The path element "Platform SDK" should be obvious. From that one you drill down to "Windows Base Services" and somewhere under that you find this functions. I really hope there's no way in h*ll the POS MFC manages to creep into the SDK also. :-)

Thats got to be anoying :( at times like this i usually think- "why learn it, you'll have to learn it again..." but if you learn it once, the next time you'll have to learn it, you'll only have to change a little here and learn a little more there. :) ~SilverShalkin :rose:

It does the downloading in pieces, and it saves the state of your downloads if you get disconnected or an error occurs.
