The official word is, the Doctors are there to protect you from misuse of the medicine. Yeah, I hate that, too. I think the medical profession is like MAFIA in many ways. Roger Wright wrote: This is just one reason I oppose any form of the Nanny State that Liberal Democrats are trying to force down our throats. Some republicans, I don't mean you, try to blame every problem on liberals/socialists. Nanny State may exist on this planet, but it is definitely not America. By the way, have you tried the emergency room, where you can double the "bribe" and get faster relief?

Chineese Government up to old tricksGiles wrote: I would not be locked up for having this conversation about the Waco fiasco if I was living in the US. Hey, nobody was locked up in China for talking about Waco either. ;P Seriously, I think you are likely to be wrong this time. If the chinese government was afraid of media coverage so that they choose to use shovels to crack down, then why use guns and explosives at all? You have to come very close to see if a person is holding a shovel instead of a gun, but gun shots can be heard miles away. It does not make any sense. Nowadays it is so easy for someone to enhance a news clip by adding sound effect (preferrably gun shots for more sensation) you just cannot believe every thing you see and hear. By the way, I searched CNN for "Shovel China", guess what I found? There is no mention of this story, but a lot of "shovels made in China". :)

What a classy groupChris Losinger wrote: or something else? Stan is an idealistic racist and an American-only patriotic capitalist. The following will probably summarize his whole political thinking: 1. Government officials should be elected by property onwners who are not recent immigrants. 2. United Nations should be contracted to private American companies. If a company is in another country, then it is not real capitalism and can't be trusted. 3. Social security and welfare should only be run by churches and provided to church members. If you don't believe in god, then why do you need such things, you are going to hell anyway. 4. All kinds of weapons should be legalized as long as they are made and sold by Americans. 5. Science, art, and music taught in school are ok if they begin and end with a prayer. English should be the only language spoken outside of home(actually, he prefers Americanish, but it is not invented yet). 6. There should be a new country established, The Republic of Guantanamo, for all allah believers, north koreans, gays/lesbians/trans, european socialists, and liberals.

Cultural ExchangeStan Shannon wrote: Compared to what? China's proud history of promoting human rights? The courage of the Chinese people in defending human rights? Note that you used the phrase "Chinese people", not Chinese government. I don't need to speak for China because I am a US citizen, but I do think you are a racist, no more and no less. You take every opportunity to attack other cultures and other people. If I remember correctly, you even defended slavery in your previous posts. You are proud of it. Come on, admit it, you know you want to.

Cultural ExchangeAlvaro Mendez wrote: I dare you to do with your glorious government what Michael Moore has done with the current US administration. I am criticizing my glorious government (the US government, that is ;P ) by agreeing with Michael Moore on some of the things. Because of that, I must be a Chinese citizen, right? It just shows that you are as narrow-minded as some of the other right-wing extremists on this forum. Now, before you make another wrong assumption and call me a leftist liberal or a communist, let me tell you that I don't care much about them either. However, I dislike GWB the most at this moment.

Cultural Exchange"The film, which is currently playing in cinemas around North America, was the top ticket-seller last weekend." Looks like they like to watch the same kind of propaganda and lies as the Americans, you got a problem with that? ;P Brit wrote: My guess is that the film will be perceived as discrediting American democracy in general. As far as descrediting democracy is concerned, the film is nothing compared to the actions of US government.

Will the US please stop Isreal!!!Jason Henderson wrote: Because its a biased, accusatory statement. Oh, forgive me ignorance. It is just so easy to be misled by communist propaganda like this[^]. In Colorado Territory, the Cheyenne and Arapahoe Indians attempted to live peacefully with the American settlers, voluntarily relocating to reservations earlier. However, the land that the reservations included was unsuitable and many of the Indians began leaving the reservations. These Indians soon found themselves involved in a series of minor skirmishes with various American settlers, especially miners, ranchers, and wagon trains. As a consequence, in 1864 Governor John Evans ordered Colonel John M Chivington, commanding US Army forces in Colorado, to begin a campaign of extermination against all "wild" Indians in the territory. In May, Chivington's forces began attacking Indian hunting parties and peaceful encampments in the war of extermination. In August, Governor Evans expands the extermination campaign by authorizing the killing of Indians by all Americans in Colorado, subsequently resulting in bands of "concerned citizens" murdering Indians on sight throughout Colorado.

Will the US please stop Isreal!!!Jason Henderson wrote: Just Americans killed the indians eh? What about the Incas, Aztecs, and other indigenous people of Central and South America? Did the Americans kill them too? Maybe you need to take a refresher course in history. Yes, others killed Indians, and Palestinians, too. That does not change the fact that most of the Indians once lived in America were killed by Americans. Why do you jump when I stated the fact? Am I insulting your ancesters? Speaking of history course, the pathetic Thanksgiving fairy tale is still being taught to kids in public schools in USA. Jason Henderson wrote: No one is innocent. Maybe that's how the terrorists see it. If we pay tax or drive a car in the USA, we are financing the Israeli occupation indirectly. As GWB said, "we do not distinguish terrorists from those who harbor them". With that logic, the terrorists have the right to kill everyone because no one is innocent, as you said.

Will the US please stop Isreal!!!Anonymous wrote: However, none of that changes the reality of the situation. The Palestinians are being used as pawns by the rest of the Muslim world who could otherwise care less about their plight. The reality is, US is giving Israel money, weapon, and political support. With that kind of support, of course there is no other (better) choice for Israel. Anonymous wrote: Israel has no choice but to fight if it wishes to survive. The Palestinians, in fact, have many choices but they do not choose wisely. In other words, the Palestinians are too stupid, is that what you are saying?

Will the US please stop Isreal!!!Stan Shannon wrote: The notion that they could arrive at a peaceful settlement with people who are committed entirely to their destruction is rediculous. They must either fight or flee, they have no other choice. [sarcasm] I can see that you are totally on Israel's side because they had been the victims in the past. You probably don't mind if some Palestinians camp in your backyard because they lost their homeland even if you had nothing to do with their loss their homeland. As for the Palestinians, yes, they are committed to the destruction of Israel. They have no choice, either they fight or live a life with no dignity. Too bad Israel can't kill them all, like the Americans killed the Indians. [/sarcasm]

This is what I get....Don't worry or feel guilty for the company either. Everything will work out ok. One thing I learned is that no employer needs a single employee to save the whole company, no matter how good the employee is. I am sure you are doiong an excellent job, but to your boss or the upper management you are probably just another senior developer. I once left a company and felt guilty about leaving all the work with nobody to take over. Later I learned that my boss hired 5 new programmers to continue on what I did, they just thought the work I did was easy and now they started to tackle the more difficult part. As a result, the boss got promoted and became a lot happier (I was the only one reporting to him before I left).
