it does not work. the numbers still show up without any formatting :(

i have an asp.net bound column. this column gets it values from the dataset. the values displayed are displayed as 123456. i want it to be displayed as 1,23,456. i tried using dataformatstring="{0:n}, but is of no use. please help. -- modified at 4:08 Monday 13th November, 2006

hi, i am creating an application which will save a .xml file on the disk. i need to provide a way to open this file from within my page. if i give the path in ... tag it is not opening after clicking on the link. the link which is shown in the status bar of ie looks like this file:///a/abc.xml the xml file is supposed to open in its default editor when i click on the link.
