As far as I can tell its a myth. My wife used to work in a medical clinic. They had signs around saying to turn off your cell phone. Once I was in there was to see the doctor and someone still had it on, took a call and started talking....the receptionist gave him both barrels. Later I asked my wife about it and asked if it really interfered with equipment. She said "No, we don't have anything it could interfere with but its very annoying to staff and patients so we make everyone turn them off!" :omg:
