i want to group the contents of the grid in a heirachical manner. So i need a tree inside a grid.

Depends on what you are doing: WPF: Individual nodes can be disabled, so no problem. WinForm: Handle the events on the tree - so if your node is selected, deselect it again (this probably won't be pretty to look at - in the Form or in the code, but that is the price you pay when using an obsolete GUI) ASP.NET: You might pull something off client side, but I do not know how to do it - and if it is possible.

I tried this. It is not working. Looks like there is some problem in creating the wrapper for the ocx. After drag and drop, under Project->References the wrapper is not available. It simply shows the wrapper's name with a warning icon ( i.e.., the icon used to indicate that the reference is not available or not built).
