Here is my $0.03. I have three indoor and two outdoor NEST cams. All have two way communication. They are all plug into the wall cameras. They are Wi-Fi cameras and have a pretty good app and website. I initially got them last December because ex-wife. Long story. Likes: Can check any of them at any time. All of them appear on one page but can click on any and get just that camera full screen. Records up to 1080p. All have great night vision. I can create a 'zone' to be notified when there is anything in that zone. I can set to be notified when a sound is detected. It will put an indicator on the timeline colored to the zone or a gray dot if it's outside the specified zone. I pay something like $50/year for each camera to have 10 day recording storage. You can get I think 24 hours free. Also can have 30 day storage for a bit more. I'll have to check out the software posted earlier. I can also have the camera turn off if I'm home which can be detected by location of the phone or simply the phone being connected to the Wi-Fi. Dislikes: Drops offline. Used to be a lot! Like 2-3 times a day! They must have done a firmware upgrade last month because now it's more like 2-3 times a week! That's about it really. Otherwise I'm very happy with these. I guess they reboot after 12 minutes because that's about how long they are off and I get emails and notices pushed to my phone when they've reached 10 minutes. They will suck bandwidth but not so bad everything else in the house suffers. I bought the Netgear Orbi setup to extend my Wi-Fi since I thought it was weak in the house but that wasn't it. Just a firmware issue with the cameras. I have Xfinity (6 Mbs up, 120 Mbs down). I also have the NEST Thermostat. Not that they all talk but that's how I knew it wasn't the internet because in the 10+ months I've had the thermostat, it's dropped like once. It was pretty much the 1080p recording that got me. Plus them needing only a plug. The outdoor ones I drilled holes through the house wall to plug inside. The wide angle lens allows me to see the entire front of the house with just two cameras. I think that about does it.

I'm a programmer at a chemical destruction facility. The chemicals are gone and we are in closure so things are slowing way down. Makes for long days of not much to do some days. So Bacon research is something I've chosen to do today. :-D

Go to Google and search for "'Actor/Actress name' Bacon Number" See how high of a number you can get. I got a 3. Most are 2 or 1. e.g. "Robert Redford Bacon Number" returns a 2. I should include that this is the degrees of separation for any actor/actress and Kevin Bacon...

Same as John. I return them on my way to work. It also happens that where I meet the vanpool, there are two Redbox machines. So it's easy. I arrive at the vanpool at 6 AM. I get back to my car by 5:15 PM so if I forget to put it in before work or am running late in the morning, I can still make the deadline.

Taking my daughter (17) and youngest son (12) back to their mother's house in the state to the North after having them for the last 4 weeks. My middle child (14) is staying with me. He hates living with his mom so he wants to live with me now. Plus he and my wife's son (who is 15) get along really well. It will be sad but what can I do? I'll see them again next month for a few days. But before we go, we may go crawdad fishing. That should be fun.

I've done this a lot! It is funny how you can stare at the problem and cannot for the life of you figure it out. But step away from your desk, talk to someone else and you'll figure it out just talking to someone. Sometimes it's even when the problem you have is not the topic of conversation! Funny how the brain works eh? Like multi-threading!

Come to think of it...? I think I was more looking for confirmation that a cellphone can't be hacked from someone unless they are physically attached to it or can get something onto your phone that will allow them access to the software/OS. So my post was incomplete and therefore I wasn't providing all the proper information for what I was looking for. My bust and apologies. :sigh: You'd think being a developer I'd have thought that yes, if something is running software, it can be hacked. But...the hacker has to have 1. access to the software/OS via a cable or 2. some other software on the device opening up a communication port. So a phone can't be hacked by someone unless one of the two previously mentioned senarios are present. So it is possible my brothers iPhone was hacked as well as his email. Most non-smart phones can't do the second but they can the first.

So my sister was at the store and the sales person tried to convince her that a cellphone cannot be hacked. Before I reply, I want to make sure I have this right. A smart phone is like a mini-computer. A computer can be hacked therefore a smart phone can be hacked. A normal (what else do you call them? Dumb?) cellphone can't be hacked. There isn't anything to hack! I'm sure the signal can be intercepted but that's not hacking. This was brought up because there were spam postings to our family group site from my brother who said he's only been using his iPhone for checking email. I don't think someone hacked his cellphone. They hacked his email account. Big difference there. But that's besides the point of my question which was hacking a phone.

Had Friday off since it was my Friday off. Caught up on some errands. Made an impromptu trip to Las Vegas Saturday. (A 5.5 hour drive.) The entire city was booked as well as any hotel within 60 miles. Had fun until late into the night. Ended up back in Utah for the night. Back to Wendover, NV (just inside Nevada) for a few hours then home. Yesterday morning was a joke. But it ended on a high note with seeing "Bridesmaids" and then renting a movie for home viewing.

That is the exact same excuse my ex-wife used as to why she didn't shower every day. I told her Bullsh!t! Then I talk to beuticians and they said you can get your hair wet (don't they walk in the rain or get in water fights?) even if you don't wash it! It's just an excuse to not shower every day. My daughter follows her mother in this nonsense. I guess at least they take a bath when they don't shower which is NOT what my ex did!
