Normally, barcode readers are just like a second keyboard. You put the focus in the TextBox, or whatever, scan the code, and whatever the barcode reader sees is "typed" into the TextBox. It's a little more complicated than that, but that the basic idea. It sounds liek you really don't have any experience with this. I would suggest getting into the documentation for the barcode reader and putting togther a test app or two to "play" with the reader to see how it works.
