Maybe we are talking about different things. You can just edit your article or tip/trick and only the newest revision will be displayed. A user has the option of viewing old revision of an article if they choose to, but that will not be what they get by default. Now, if you create a second article or tip/trick, then you are just making the mistake of creating a second article when you should just edit your first article. I'm not sure what the problem you are having is.
