For the most part, Indianapolis, or the surrounding area, is a wonderful place to raise a family, as long as your family doesn't expect a whole lot of excitement. If you bring some marketable skills to town I suspect you will have little trouble finding work right now. However, it is not the kind of place you want to come to in order to begin a career. In the Midwest, Chicago or Ohio would probably be a better bet.
