Hi there, + Does that problem happen on your machine when you remove the control out of the toolbox and reinsert it? + On another machine, can you check to make sure that the web project refers to the latest version of the web control assembly? Just some ideas.

Do you mean the duplication of the rows is that the html markups are added as soon as the control has been changed? [DefaultProperty("Rows"), ParseChildren(true, "Rows") ...] public class Table : WebControl Looking at the code above, you will see that the Rows property of the control Table will be parsed by the page parser when the control is used declaratively on an ASP.NET page. It makes sure that the nested elements(rows) are in line with the count of the row collection of the control. So the html markups which are added should represent the Rows property of the control. Oops... I hope I didn't mislead you... I'm not changing the column names, I'm changing the content of a column in one of the rows of the DataTable. When I do that, the new value doesn't propogate to the combobox. If I add a new row to the DataTable, everything propogates as I expected.

Maybe there isn't a way to do this, and that's fine, I'll continue working with nested foreach constructs, but I keep thinking the disconnected DataSet should be able to perform operations that are possible with SQL. As I'm sure you're aware, the SQL equilalent of what I'm trying to do with the DataSet is as follows... Yeah but you gotta override the PreviewKeyMessage function. Also you need to creat a custom table style I'm not an expert yet, but I play one at work. Yeah and here too.

Got it... ContainsFocus indicates whether the control or any of it's children controls has the focus.

What I see is the declaration and instantiation of a control (say a button) is removed when you delete the button, but not any associated event handlers, not even those created with the IDE.

Sounds interesting, but I don't see the ItemCreated Event in the datagrid class... Like I said earlier, I'm new to C# and the property soup for the various controls. I'm probably missing something obvious! :)

Oh... I am using InstallShield, and only replacing shared files if the files I'm replacing are older than the one's I'm installing.

Thanks everyone, It looks like I've got my answer! no standard :) I suppose I might as well throw in my own usage. In the past I've only used three fields, and here's how they've been defined... Ver A.B.C Where A = Major "Generic"... a generic is a set of defined features. Not all features of a Generic have to be present in the initial release. B = A subset of the generic that pulls in more of the defined features. C = Bug Fixes Example... The initial release of a product would be 1.0.0, and might include 6 of 10 major features that are targeted for that Generic. 1.1.0 might include 8 of 10 features, and 1.2.0 all features. Along the way, you would have bug fix releases that would increment the third field. Just my two cents.

WOW... According to dependency walker, it requires the following... kernel32.dll, user32.dll, gdi32.dll, comdlg32.dll, winspool.drv, advapi32.dll, shell32.dll, comctl32.dll, ole32.dll, olepro32.dll, oleaut32.dll at the first level Then each of them has a list! Is it necessary to include all these in an install utility? Does one of these look like a good candidate for something that's not typically loaded in a Win2000 installation? Thanks!

The intent was not to hide it as much as it was to encode some additional information in the text that the user wouldn't want to see. It's a long story... :)
