The title of the class is Ethics. The general class format is the main problem. The professor or TA starts talking about the topic, the students respond and the professor attempts to constructively guide the inevitable argument. The main problem are the people in the class. We have several loud mouth opinionated people[1] in the class. The fact that they are loud mouth an opinionated is not the problem. It's the indiivdual peoples personalities. I will list several of them.
Person 1: He's very intellegent in almost all areas. The main problem is that he is a bit conceited in a couple. He makes claims that are ridicuously arrogant or plain incorrect. Generally though, he's not bad to listen to.
Person 2: Has an opinion on everything. The only problem is his opinions are generally not relevant to the conversation and he talks with a slowness I did not think possible. One day, we became extremely bored and starting timing his contribution. The results were astounding.
Person 3: Mainly speaks up to contradict person 1 or person 2.
Person 4: Very smart. Sleeps pretty much through every class. He doesn't like the class very much so when he does speak up it's usually to insult hte class or the person speaking at the time.
[1] For the record. I am definately one of the loud mouth opinionated people in the class but I try to make my contributions short and to the point. Jared jparsons@jparsons.org www.prism.gatech.edu/~gte477n
