I also would like these views available all the time...ie not destroyed when showing the new one. OK, no problem...right? Well, for me it is. I've been trying to do this for about 2 weeks now with no success. All the code examples I've found require a pointer to a class. That class must exist and be initialized before it is attached to the document. But HOW? I've tried adding them to the DocTemplate...I get a "New" window. I've tried creating them dynamically Create(blah, blah). For some odd reason, if the function to switch the view is based on CRuntimeClass It works, but when the function requires CView* pOldView, I have a problem. Please, can anyone help me out? My idea is that during your studies, you should not be interested in one particular language. What you have to learn as a student is the general principles of programming: algorithms, data structures, the concepts of operating systems, compiler and database systems, object oriented design and design patterns and things like that. However you should also practise some real programming. The language you use is not really important, but i would suggest C++ or pascal. Please don't dig too deep into some very specific systems like Windows now. You will learn language syntax, operating specific things and all that once you really use it. ================== The original message was: Obviously I should know both VB & VC++, but which is more in demand in the job market today? You can use the "threaded expanded" view to see a brief description of all replys (for ALL messages). Do not use old stream library iostream.h. Use #include instead (without .h at the end). Than add using namespace std; line. In most cases, this is all you have to do.

I agree with the previous posters - while numerous comments could lead to loss of signal among the noise, it is also sometimes the only indicator that there might be some potential pitfalls with the posted article. Please consider adding this feature ASAP!

I too was surprised to see almost no initial articles available. I expected that you had contacted all posters of code to the old CodeGuru and had resubmitted their posts to CodeProject. Perhaps the 50 almost ready submissions include previous CodeGuru posters. Chris, your personal submissions to the old CodeGuru site, would be a valuable addition to CodeProject articles.
