Anyone got a VPS?

Virtual Private Servers. Just been taking a look at this http://www.webfusion.co.uk/vps/windows.php[^] Looks quite a good compromise between shared hosting and actually running a server, if you want to run multiple sites. Just wondered if anyone has tried, and what downsides there might be.

Well I didn't tried it, yet.

Seems to be very expensive. I just looked up some providers and found offers for 20 or 25 Euros. You should just google a little bit and find a better offer. Greetings, Ingo ------------------------------ A bug in a Microsoft Product? No! It's not a bug it's an undocumented feature!

Price isn't the only consideration, but thanks for the tip.

Well my website is hosted on a virtual linux machine, which uses similar technologies I haven't had any problems at all - costwise it's dead cheap, as I don't need the spec of a "full" machine, and configuration wise it's wonderful, as I can tweak and change *everything* which wouldn't happen on regular shared hosting -- Help me! I'm turning into a grapefruit! Buzzwords!

Where are those offers? The cheapest of the cheap that I could find was £14.99 (roughly €23.50) and it was a linux machine with a tiny amount of HD and bandwidth. Also, is the hard disk space they quote including the space the OS takes up? If so, then I'm wondering where the web pages go. These people seem very cheap[^] with a $6.99 starter package, but again its Linux. I don't see anyone much cheaper than Pipex for Windows hosting and I've been very happy with Pipex's shared hosting. I just see this as a cheap way of hosting multiple sites without the overhead of a dedicated server.
