I've tried to find a wide screen TFT display (16:9) but they seem to be available only with a laptop attached, which makes them a bit pricey ;) Anyone knows of something good and not to expensive?

as mentioned, look for the 16x10 wide aspect monitors, you'll find them in 19, 20, 24 and 30 inch sizes. The 30 inch prices will make you reconsider that laptop, but the others are more reasonable. My 20 inch was $500 several months ago, but I think the price has only dropped $50. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Dell's UltraSharp 2405FPW is awesome (and has come down in price), but still too pricey for my wallet. :( /ravi My new year's resolution: 2048 x 1536 Home | Music | Articles | Freeware | Trips ravib(at)ravib(dot)com

I have this one:http://shop.nordpc.com/scripts/banner2.php4?SEARCHSTRING=A%20%2020390[^] The only thing I miss is an ability to rotate the screen 90 degrees. jhaga --------------------------------- Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new. You know, I want it. At 1920x1200, it matches my laptop. But.... Dell has another one at 1680x1050 for half the price - $440 or something close to that. I might just pick that one up. I have a 21" 1600x1200 flatpanel, and it is simply outstanding for development. I'd take a look at that 1680x1050....

                I prefer their 1600x1200 model to the 1680x1050. And it's only $300 and change. /ravi My new year's resolution: 2048 x 1536 Home | Music | Articles | Freeware | Trips ravib(at)ravib(dot)com

Yup, that is the one I have. I picked it up for just a smidgen under $500, it's come down $50 since. :) so far works good. I have it in verticle mode right now due to redesigning my old website. I normally do development in wide, but I do webpages in tall mode so I don't have to scroll during design. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. What size/resolution do you want? Viewsonic makes this[^] one and it's only US$349, but its only 1440x900. This[^] one is 1680x1050, but there's no price so you'll have to search for it.
