I was checking out the very first few pages of The Lounge the other day for no real reason, when I came across an InstallShield type product that Jamie Nordmeyer posted about. I tried it, and I think it is a great product, that I will almost definately start deploying my apps with. Surely a mark of a great utility like this, is that I wasnt looking for a replacement for my existing solution, and I didnt have any problems with the existing solution. This is just, far and away, better. So firstly, thanks Jamie, and secondly, anybody else have any experiences like that? Finding something that fits your requirements so perfectly. Oh, the setup program is Inno Setup(new window) -- David Wengier Sonork ID: 100.14177 - Ch00k

Here's the installation product I've been using. It looks pretty similar to the Inno product, but it includes password protection (it encrypts the exe) and it associates file extensions with the application (so the files have the icon of your application and open when you double-click it). You can try it for free. http://www.patchwiz.com/

It's nice that I can stop them, but why not drag around? BTW. you should start handing out Latex Appendage Suits, as clearly can be seen alcohol & dancing are the basic ingedients for children.

Wow! I should do searches through the forum more often! I did a search on my name because I'm trying to find an old post, and happened across this. I'm glad that InnoSetup is working for you. Jordan Russell did an outstanding job on this product, as did Bjørnar Henden (ISTool) and Martijn Laan (Extensions). Anyway, glad to hear that it did what you needed. Jamie Nordmeyer Portland, Oregon, USA
