    He is waiting a bit to see if he dares say he only has 128 MB :-D As for me, 512 home and here at work. But this is sufficient. ~RaGE();

      What's about developer machines that they requiere so much memory. I keep adding memory as more I use a machine. As the projects get bigger and I use that machine to publish them, so the machine asks me for more memory. So what's the normal here for memory? Got normally 4 projects open VS2003 and VS2005, I copile one while I work in another. Need to go to Best Buy in a few and get another GB How much memory is in your computer? Al

      1 gig (home) 1 gig (work laptop) 256mb (nt4 text box. It's a 7yo p3, so the ram's reasonable for what it's used for. If I needed to do anyhting heavy with it there'd be a problem since IS is extremely reluctant to support anything that old)

        I have 640MB (the motherboard's max is 768 (3x256MB) (yes this is an OLD computer)) and it's only painful when I try to run more than one VM in VirtualPC.

              Virtual page files... mass storage for not-quite ram-disk type work.... everything is manually paged, so not as efficient, but also that data is not necessary for all customers.... It's experimental until we get a full 64bit, both are dual boot or removable drives, so 64bit is an option as soon as all our 3rd party DLLs support the same. _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. Impressive RAM attitude there! I am similarly minded as far as RAM is concerned - though sometimes my bank balance doesn't live up to my mindset! Regards, Nish

                which is why home was orignally 1gig.... then 1.5gig... and only went 2gig after tax refund. My home system is usually just a "tad" more conservative than work (though not always). _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. I did not. My laptop is 512 as well and my desktop was 1GB 10 minutes ago, now is 2 GB The laptop is painful to write code with, the desktop was paintful if I wanted to keep 3 projects or more open, now seems ok with 2GB, still got another socket free to add another DDR2 Cheers Al

                                      1GB. Wish I could double it, especially since I could disable the Windows pagefile, but sadly funds don't allow. :(
