A VC++ guy in Bangalore with 4 years exp could ask for anything from INR 480 K to 660 K depending on the company. You might want to use better language and spelling when you apply though! :~ Regards, Nish

CTC means Current Cost to Company, if you are working for any organization what the organization is paying you annually, including taxes, allowances and all other facilities, its also known as gross package. In Bangalore there are huge openings for Microsoft Professionals if you can prove your skills equivalent to 4+ yrs exp. professional you can easily ask anything higher than 5.00 LPA. I am afraid some companies don’t consider freelancing experience.

INR = Indian Rupee. We say Rs. and that is good enough for us. But in an international arena, there are many countries with the rupee as their official currency, so the official abbreviation differs based on which country you are talking about. After all, a Pakistani and an Indian might talk about "Rs. 100" but they are talking about very different amounts. A pakistani's "Rs. 100" is PKR 100; your "Rs. 100" is INR 100. Hope this helps. :) Cheers, Vikram.

I agree with your suggestion Nish. Before I would submit my resume to anyone I'd have 3 different people look over it and make suggestions. (1) My wife. (2) Always get a former employer that you had a good relationship with to have a look at it. (This really helps). (3) A peer in your field of work with a background similar to yours. I'd add a fourth now as I've learned how important it is. But in America meet with someone in the H.R. department you want to work for and have them give you feedback before you submit your resume. It will get you visibility and it's just a smart thing to do. - Rex:rose:

Don't post in SMS speak. It is irritating and unnecessary here. You are not limited to 160 characters per message. ColinMackay.net Scottish Developers are looking for speakers for user group sessions over the next few months. Do you want to know more?

Ah, I thought he had 4 years experience in a company. If he merely freelanced, he'd better be really good - because if at all he makes it to the interview, they'd grill him thoroughly. Regards, Nish
