Don't post in SMS speak. It is irritating and unnecessary here. You are not limited to 160 characters per message. ColinMackay.net Scottish Developers are looking for speakers for user group sessions over the next few months. Do you want to know more?

INR is the ISO abbreviation for the Indian Rupee. (Just as USD is for the US Dollar and CAD is for the Canadian Dollar)

It's good to get 3rd party perspective about your language skills, and not to just rely on your own estimate of how good it is. Regards, Nish

INR means INcorrect(means Approximate) Rands, well, he might be talking about South African Rands. since it is widely used in India.:sigh:

Ah, I thought he had 4 years experience in a company. If he merely freelanced, he'd better be really good - because if at all he makes it to the interview, they'd grill him thoroughly. Regards, Nish

OK When applying for a job there are certain things to consider: * First of all: Don't think about how much you can earn, think how much you'll cost the company and if you'll be good enough to make it profitable for them. * I always try to dassel them with technical terms, this often proves you're in the business and you know your stuff, don't use expensive words or terms you don't know yourself. * You replied to another person in the thread that your language usage is good. Convince yourself that it is so and be critical. If they think your language isn't good, it's better to say you know it isn't good, but you're willing to improve rather then saying to them it is good. * During the interviews: look professional, stay calm and if you don't know the answer, say so, if you're not sure, but you're willing to guess: say so.

I agree with your suggestion Nish. Before I would submit my resume to anyone I'd have 3 different people look over it and make suggestions. (1) My wife. (2) Always get a former employer that you had a good relationship with to have a look at it. (This really helps). (3) A peer in your field of work with a background similar to yours. I'd add a fourth now as I've learned how important it is. But in America meet with someone in the H.R. department you want to work for and have them give you feedback before you submit your resume. It will get you visibility and it's just a smart thing to do. - Rex:rose:

thanx man, * the expectation was regarding salary(again, i don't know the proper term).I wasn't talking about the objective. * the jargons were also industry related, not technical thanx again for the tips.

guys, First of all, thanx for the response. Its just that its my first post to any sort of forum.I tried to cut the story and present the point but it obviously failed big time.Ok,I'll keep in mind that people around here dont really mind reading full sentences.:) Also, this bad-at-english thing gets a bit too personal and insulting in India(I guess Indians might understand that).;) I am not saying I am very good.I am good for India. Definitely not bad in any which way and needing improvement.:-D No hard feelings.Just thought of clearing up things.
