I am a same female person who posted her first message yesterday. Some people have made lot of fun for it. I don't know why. But here is the clarification: I am a truly female and whatever i worte yesterday was 100% accurate. A guy whose CP id is "tili" was the first to said that I am a liar and my name is "Imran Farooqui". Thats some thing stupid. I don't know who is "tili" and who is "Imran Farooqui" I didn't reply my previous thread as it was a night time in my country and i was sleeping. Another guy name Nish said that in karachi there can't be such a company having so large number of female members. I think that he reserved no right saying that, as he seems to be not visited Karachi which is a city of around 15 million people. Any ways i am deeply disappointed and never like to post again. So, bye for ever. Saima Ali

CodeProject is a site that helps developers do their jobs a little better by providing a collection of code samples, tutorials and advice. If you're here to better yourself as a developer why would care about a few people that don't think you are who you state you are? Cheers, Tom Archer Author, Inside C# Best mini-putt score = 22

You are right. We are 12 developers, one is a woman (me). But this is not a good reason to think that if a woman writes a post perhaps she is not a she but a he. Last Christmas we had a dinner for all the people that work here : 14 men and 1 woman (me). But this wasn't a goor reason not to go with my collegue, even if it was quite funny ....

Today when I red the post written by Saima Ali , I could not believe it :( . I was very disappointed. Do you think only men can do VC++ and some other stuff ? Hi Saima, I'm happy you posted here in CP. Michela

Why must s/he point out that she's female, and practivally push her profile's pic into everyone's face? S/he started the "female" thing, not we.

Nish, i found no reason that she stated something wrong. I am 70% sure that she is a female. In the last two years software industry has grown by leaps and bound in this part of the world. So there are many female developers around. Here in Karachi there are large number of Software Houses havin many female workers. And i think she may works in big company like this one. Imran Farooqui

I thought there was some dispute as to whether Karachi is in Pakistan or India. Admnitedly, I don't pay too much attention to the issue, but I thought that's why India and Pakistan are constantly at each other's throats. Saima Ali

Saima, Please do not take what people say in "The Lounge" too seriously. I do feel that at times what is said here goes a bit over-the-top, but I just ignore it. And for anyone who thinks beautiful women and computers don't mix, I have news for you: My wife performs digital restoration on old photographs and documents. She knows more about Photoshop and InDesign than I ever will, which is funny considering that I introduced her to both programs! What's even funnier is that her computer is better than mine, and I built them both. Hmmm... At any rate, the point is, my wife works with computers every day. A number of people have asked if she is a model. And no, I'm not posting her photograph on CP, so don't even bother asking! :) Saima, I hope you reconsider your departure. There is a lot of valuable information on this site, and many knowledgable people to ask questions of. Just ignore the idiots. -- Paul
