You liked it then ? Why don't you just Amazon the album ? Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++
I pretty much hate clutter and tracking down CD's and cases just drives me nuts. If I could get all digital access to every artist there was I would. Walmart Music didn't have them I'm afraid that iTunes may not either. Yeah, I loved it. Sounded great!

Fair enough. If iTunes cost, say, half of buying the CD, I would be there. So long as it costs the same, I will keep buying, ripping and storing CDs. Walmart ? Give me a break, I've been in there, they carry no good music :-) One other good suggestion - there is a series of DVDs called Monsters of Metal. Most of the bands I've got into in recent years, I discovered by buying those DVD sets and watching them. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++

Well iTunes had them and while I was there I checked for AC/DC nobody has any buy and download AC/DC and it blows me away. I would love to get about 3 albums of theirs that I consider all-time keepers and perhaps I'll amazon all them together... Is Amazon selling CD's for $10??? I'll have to go look at that.

Is iTunes $10 for an album ? Last time I looked it was a dollar a track, and most bands I like have 14 + tracks per CD. Yes, some CDs on Amazon are 10 bucks, but the average is more 12-14. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++

Well all the AC/DC I want at Amazon is $8 an album. That's awesome. Primal Fear is $18. I was a bit wrong. Rhapsody sells albums for $8 or $9 if you are a subscriber. That's a good price for me.

Yeah, Primal Fear is on import, so it costs more. I just buy those locally, it costs about the same for me. I have a good local record store that carries a good range of metal. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++

Is just a really hard album to not like. The tones rip and the rolling nature of the music in crushing waves. I can be so productive to this type of "classical" music. If only Bach and Beetoven had access to Electric Guitars and James Hetfield. I truly believe that the world would be a better place. Perhaps even better than what those Noodle-Heads Bill and Ted sought after in their excellent adventure... Mmmmm, which reminds me... Iron Maiden. Well back to it. Let the tribute to 90's metal continue uninhibited from now through the rest of this project... And all the coders spoke in one voice "\r\n" and then there was silence as they donned their headphones to the sounds of gently tapping keystrokes. Is it Friday yet?:-D:laugh:;P:->:-O:cool::) I think I'm a bit warped above the shoulders...
Overheard in clients: Question: "So country music doesn't make you want to get down and boogie?" Response: "No, it makes me want to clean off the bottom of my shoe." I just have to say that's about one of the best statements regarding country music I've ever heard. Welcome to CP in your language. Post the unicode version in My CP Blog[^] now.
Master of Puppets and Ride the Lightning are my two favorite Metallica albums. I've liked other ones - for a while i listened to the Black album non-stop, then S&M... but i keep coming back to Master of Puppets.

This song must be sung...
I can't remember anything Can't tell if this is true or dream Deep down inside I feel to scream This terrible silence stops me Now that the war is through with me I'm waking up I cannot see That there is not much left of me Nothing is real but pain now Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death Oh please God, wake me (Slow guitar riffs...) Back in the Womb its Much Too Real In Pumps Life That I must Feel But Can't Look Forward to Reveal Look to the Time When I'll Live Fed Through the Tube That Sticks in Me Just like a Wartime Novelty Tied to Machines That Make Me Be Cut this Life off from Me Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death Oh please God, wake me Now the World Is Gone I'm Just One Oh God,help Me Hold My Breath as I Wish for Death Oh Please God Help Me (Awesome hard-ass guitar riffs goes here!) Darkness Imprisoning me All that I see Absolute horror I cannot live I cannot die Trapped in myself Body my holding cell Landmine Has Taken My Sight Taken My Speech Taken My Hearing Taken My Arms Taken My Legs Taken My Soul Left Me with Life in Hell
Always my favourite song from that album!

Yeah, but where do you stop ? And why was I the first to mention Motorhead ? Anthrax is another band that needs to be mentioned. Slayer, I don't like, so I'll skip them. Megadeth is also overrated. I had to laugh, I bought the Megadeth clip collection, and they had an interview snippet from the 'peace sells' days. Dave says 'to be honest, I always felt musically held back in Metallica, like I could do so much more. They kicked me out as I was about to leave, to tell you the truth'. It would only have been better if they could have cut to Dave crying to Lars in Some Kind Of Monster about how hurt he still is that they gave him the boot. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++

The Stooges? When I heard their first album for the first time, it was hard to believe it was made in the 60s, not the 70s.

I like St. Anger (am I the only one?). It has a cool "garage band" feel to it. However, I'll agree that it's no where near as good as the Black album, which I think is when Metallica peaked. I also liked their S&M album with the San Francisco symphony. That's another one that I think doesn't get the respect it deserves. In my opinion, the S&M album did an awesome rendition of "One". Although I'm probably biased here since I live in the San Franciso bay area. P.S. You got my 5 for recommending Primal Fear. Cool stuff.

Yes.

I think they peaked with MoP. Black is half crap songs, half good, commercial songs. The world didn't need more commercial metal, it needed more real metal.

Yeah, the new album is totally awesome, especially the title track. After years of listening only to 80's music, there's suddenly a lot of really cool bands, especially coming out of Europe, but the US also. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++

Master of Puppets was quite good too. The Black album was my introduction to Metallica, so that's probably why I favor it over the rest. One of the local radio stations here used to play Metallica every night at 10 PM for about an hour. It was called "Mandatory Metallica". I believe it started in the early 90s and it lasted for about 10 years. Good times! (I believe several other US cities did the same as well.)

I appreciate the offer. Hell, I really should be more social online. I've been a member of CodeProject for about 4 years and I've just barely broke the 500 post barrier. I have more free time now days so I guess it's high time that changes. Maybe even write an article or two.

Well, at least I'm not alone anymore. St. Anger fans are hard to find. :)
