I have a 12 year old that wants to be a game programmer when he 'grows up'. I wanted his first programming experience to be positive so I introduced him to the KPL. In about 8 lines of code he could move a sprite around the screen and in about 24 lines of code he could run that object into another object, make a crashing sound and cycle a .gif explosion. This was a great introduction to programming fundamentals of 'if' statements, 'loops' and 'processes'. A little more time spent on his project and I'll be ready to bring him into .net coding. KPL is a great thing. After all, if you're a microsoft programmer, you need to become proficient at creating and reacting to 'crashing sounds'.:suss: Joel Palmer Application Developer III www.Young-America.com

yes, agreed. He is, and kids have little to do with it, let alone their programming efforts. Or maybe there is something in the kid's way of thinking worth capturing??? There might be something less corrupted, more pure. But how we adults would recognise it, and make a positive use of it... ed
