I know I am a pathetic person to write this in the lounge. But i need some suggestions on the best course of action. She is the one who makes me still a part of the "real world", otherwise my whole life revolves around computers. I am talking of my girl friend. Recently I noticed that I find her increasingly in call waiting. I had rung her up unexpectedly at night after our regular conversation for something and found her to be in call waiting. She said its a friend using her phone, and also in few other ocations when i dint expect her to be on phone. Unlike the regular me these incidents somehow keeps disturbing me. Any suggestions on the best course of action? - "Always Trust" OR "Be Skeptical" OR "Look Out For Proof"? Any suggestions? -- modified at 7:32 Wednesday 10th May, 2006

There's really only on solution... First, get a black ski mask and stalk like you've never stalked before. Hide out in the bushes outside of her apartment. Be sure to bring a bottle of water and an empty bottle for urination. If that does not yield the results you are looking for, you should cheat on her. Take pictures of the deed, then confront her with them. Get very flustered and say, "YOU DROVE ME TO THIS WITH YOUR CHEATING!!!!". If she actually cheated on you, she'll say something like "WELL I NEEDED TO GET SATISFACTION SOMEHOW!!!". If she didn't cheat on you, she'll probably just cry and break up with you. But ultimately you'll know for sure.

First off you are not pathetic. This kind of thing happens to many of us and you would have to be a strange human not to worry or want to seek help from friends. Second, ask her. You have to talk to her man. You should be comfortable talking to a person you call your girlfriend. Preferably not by text or email, see her face to face :) regards, Paul Watson Ireland Feed Henry!

Fascinating! Look, i'm sorry, but the guy is either paranoid or not telling us something. Calling a woman and finding that she's already on another line is as natural as calling a programmer and hearing him draw pointless analogies. ;)

If she's lost interest in you there's not a thing you can do. It's all chemistry. Enjoy the ride while it lasts and for some of us it lasts forever (once we finally find the right person).

And why not simply speak ? If there is a problem, this is the best to solve it (without knowing what is the problem, it is difficult to solve it). And if there is nothing, then this will clear your doubts. Of course, there is also the way of abording the conversation . Don't come and ask sudenly: "What's the problem with you ?". I don't think this will be appreciated ;P Maybe you are simply a little bit paranoid ;)

Ok, it's obvious you're insecure. I'm willing to bet this is the reason your worried about her cheating. Maybe she's talking to some other guy on the phone, but without wire tapping you'll never know for sure. Now, knowledge is your friend, not stalking. I would suggest this book for some nice pointers. It's an easy read. Clickety[^] Use the techniques in that book. Also, if you want to keep her, start working on your insecurities. Really, women want men, and men are the ones they go to when they whine, not the other way around. I'm not calling you a whiner, but the point is, you gotta be the man here. Jeremy Falcon

 Oh don't be so melodramatic young man. It just sounds like he needs to try actually talking to his brocolli-farmer rather than worrying to death in his cola-stained, pizza-marked dark room. You do discuss worries you have with the most important person in your life. Right? regards, Paul Watson Ireland Feed Henry!

Get married, have a daughter, wait twelve years and you'll be amazed at how much time a female can spend on the phone. Now if you had written that your girl friend always answered right away, THAT would be a mystery. (Periodically, I will talk a long time on the phone with my brothers or a few close friends, but my wife makes FAR more phone calls than I do and my oldest daughter; well, let's just say she runs out the batteries on cordless and cell phones on a consistant basis.) Your plan is too complicated, maybe he could just take one dual purpose bottle?

What if he needs to pee before he finishes his water?
