I am in need to a graduation project idea. If anyone has any ideas about projects he did or he wanted to do please share it with me. I want an attractive project. We are a team of 5 developpers in the project and we will do it in about 1 year. My interests : dektop applications , mobile applications , service oriented ... I am not interested in: Speech and pattern recognition , webites. The programming lanuguage doesn't matter. Any ideas are welcomed. Thank You Assaad Abou-Samra

The ACM has many departments covering large numbers of subjects, find the "subject" that excites you the most, find a subject within that that excites you even more. You will do better if you enjoy what you have chosen rather than chosen what others would enjoy.

Do something fun, it might be your last chance before getting a job. If I had the time I'd get involved in UPnP. Turn a CE or Win Mobile device into the next living room remote control, using standardized technology. WinXP already functions as a media server. You'll need a media renderer. You can buy one, but you might as well right the code yourself, and make another computer the renderer. Then turn the CE device into a media controller.

But simple address book applications are always fun. Actually with interests in desktop and mobile applications a web service is a perfect fit. Make a web service that yeild trivial, useless, yet funny data and implement applications that use the service across a variety of platforms. Imagine a webservice that uses TAPI to call a number provided and play an provided recording. Or maybe an emulator that emulates a desktop PC on a mobile platform so you can use a mobile platform to develop a desktop application. Really the main requirement for a graduation project beyond actually being functional is creativity. "Until the day of his death, no man can be sure of his courage" -- Jean Anouilh
