How do you like Office 2007?

Now that some have had this for a few days, how do you like the new versions? Personally, I love the new versions. It was a bit iffy there for a while not knowing where things were, but the new features are really handy! One new feature I noticed a little while ago is in the common file dialog, you can add folder paths to the quick pick bar on the left. That is what I wanted when they first switched over to having that panel! This one feature makes it VERY easy to manage documents quickly. I also love their clear text, very easy on the eyes, along with the rest of their GUI. Still getting use to the Ribbon Bars though.. In Word, I love the popup bar that appear on context (right button) clicks. Been helpful, but in Word, I wish they would have included a selection for heading style. So, what are you likes and dislikes? From what I see, I will be upgrading when available! Rocky <>< Latest Post: Visual Studio 2005 Standard, whats missing? Blog: www.RockyMoore.com/TheCoder/[^]

I like the ribbon bars myself, makes navigation better and requires alot less searching to accomplish tasks. Not sure why it wasn't carried through the whole suite, outlook and Info Path still use the older command bars. I also like the instant preview for formatting and styles. You can see what the document will look like before changing it, saves a great deal of "Undo" time. The RSS feature seems half done, in my case it continually updated the same articles over and over. I couldn't find a way to set the update period. You can blog directly from word but .Text isn't supported yet, so I'll take a wait and see on this feature. Overall though, they seem to have put a great deal of work into and interoperability with older document formats works well. Brad

the interface looks pretty horrible - although the concept itself is nice. What is it with Microsoft - office / visual studio / windows-os all have different themed interfaces. A bit of consistency would be nice for once. Microsoft's UI has been getting worse and worse for years, I'm seriously thinking of switching to MacOS.... Also when I installed the office-beta2, it broke my VisualStudio6.0 install - right-click 'add file to project' suddenly stopped working. As soon as I uninstalled office, it started working again. I know it's a Beta, but I wasn't impressed.

http://www.catch22.netNot sure what you mean about the GUI, I like the looks of it, pretty clean and intuitive. Would not know about the VS6 problem as I have not used that for years ;) Rocky <>< Latest Post: Visual Studio 2005 Standard, whats missing? Blog: www.RockyMoore.com/TheCoder/[^]
