No, not one of those iPod type thingies. I want recommendations of Freeware MP3/CD Players to run under Windows 2000 and XP. A couple of months ago I went with Shog9's recommendation of CDex to rip my CD's to MP3's and have since suffered along with Windows Media Player 9 and 10. Needless to say they suck arse and I want something better and more light weight. Michael Martin Australia "I controlled my laughter and simple said "No,I am very busy,so I can't write any code for you". The moment they heard this all the smiling face turned into a sad looking face and one of them farted. So I had to leave the place as soon as possible." - Mr.Prakash 24/04/2004

I prefer the new skin, although I don't use all the windows it has. I have only the main window and the playlist open. But that's just me....

        š Cheers, Vikram.

I love iTunes. It is simple to use and it is powerful. And it is free. It has an inbuild CD ripper, CD burner. http://www.apple.com/

For Windows you'd want Media Monkey http://www.mediamonkey.com/ pseudonym67 My Articles[^] "So keep that smile on your face. Have a drink to help you sleep at night. They got what they desired. We're passive in their brave new world." New Model Army

Winamp is my favorite. Other things worth mentioning are QCD and VLC. VLC will play almost anything you throw at it, although the interface is a bit wanting. As for ripping into MP3s, I can recommend CDDA extractor and FreeRip MP3.

              š Cheers, Vikram.

Try as I might, I can't figure WinAmp out...the UI seems horribly unintuitive to me. :~ Anna :rose: Currently working mostly on: Visual Lint  Anna's Place | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up. I agree, and what is with the horrible refresh rate of the play list box (it gets unbearable for me when there are a couple thousand songs loaded)?

I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:
