Brainpower....
-
Maybe this is a question with an obvious answer, but why do all the brilliant folks do all the work that keeps them behind the scenes and out of the spotlight (coders included), but those like Britney Spears are all out there wiggling their bodies in front of the masses. In a way it seems backwards that the public hardly ever gets to see the magic of intelligence...but then it looks like too many are blind to it and need us to keep their world from falling to pieces like an egg shell and exposing them to reality... My words might be a bit harsh but they are said in context of honesty rather than to offend. I've just noticed that CP is full of intelligent people with open minds that you wouldn't always meet elsewhere, people whose brains are put to work daily and relax by brain activity as well... I don't know what else to say, but i know someone else will add whatever has slipped out of my mind Roswell :)

City Mayor, Los Angeles, CAAnd i'll make it clear that i'm not looking for spotlight, but i'm trying to vent my frustration instead. Sometimes a thought comes to my mind that makes me see it all this way and it's impossible to ignore. I know i wish for the impossible in that moment -- it being more brain power put to work, more cooperaton more optimism...otherwise everyone is marinating in their own pickle jar and nobody truly benefits from all the wasted potential Roswell

Well i really don't care about the spotlight much :->
**You know you're obsessed with computer graphics when you're outside and you look up at the trees and think, "Wow! That's spectacular resolution!"
**i don't either, but look at all the bugs plastered to my window from the outside hoping to reach the lamp on my desk...but out of their ignorance they keep yearning for the 'spotlight' banging their heads against the glass pane...it's the same with people..and i have to disagree with their values...to tell the truth it simply makes me sad that they have all the world made for them to live in and they don't make a single step towards seeing the reality before it hits them in the face... Roswell:(( P.S. Whoever has the signature that says "The price for freedon is ethernal vigilance" makes a good point...i have to agree with it

City Mayor, Los Angeles, CAHey I hate Brad Pitt but adore Angelina ;) (probably because I am a guy) same way you can look at Brad pitt instead of Britney. ;) I think you have good personality, initiate the conversation yourself. At first you may find it awkword but you will find more and more interesting people interact with you. My sister too tried it. She was so reserved and a loner. Now she is in a HR firm and I dont believe , she is so outgoing today. pathak

For me (not saying I'm brilliant or anything), I prefer to just keep working and get the job done without fuss. If other people want to waste time playing up to the crowds, that's their choice. Intelligent people are often very driven, in that once they put their mind to something, it is very hard to distract them. People who, well, aren't quite so intelligent, tend to get distracted very easily.

City Mayor, Los Angeles, CAF**k this society. I have been coding all along. I dont have social life. My marital life is in shambles. No friends. I watch TV in my spare time. I go alone for shopping or to watch movies. I feel inferior, insecure. I am a loner. Nobody loves me , o r loves to talk to me. they gets bores by me easily. I dont have god physique. But certainly not suicidal 'cos All I think is of dot net and the next great assignment my boss has promised me. SOmetimes I feel though, I should have more friends and miss my college and childhood days. But I am happy with myself. I enjoy myself. I am happiest when noone is around. marcoslav

One word...genius. Though I'm not sure what it has to do with Paris Hilton. BW

City Mayor, Los Angeles, CAI hope you don't infect others with your thoughts;P As I'm not a programmer like most people here, I learned here very much from others, who write articles, sample-codes and any more. And recently I 2 times got help in the message-board for questions that have been realy stupid. Maybe in 10 or 20 years I'll be also able to help someone in this community:confused: (even if I don't think so:^)). But if this would be, then I could pay back something of what I got here. So thanks and :rose::rose::rose: to anyone here who helps people like me, Gerard

City Mayor, Los Angeles, CAI see from your profile that you’re about 16 or so right? Without getting preachy, put the remote down, see that room with the blue sky and the absence of climate control? Explore it; don’t worry about what the plastic people on the plastic TV are doing. Join the CP crowd and give up watching that crap. Modern society isn’t much different than any other previous society (Romans, Greeks). Life is what you make it.
I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:
