Anyone know of any undocumented methods of curing a sore throat? I am suffering one but it is not so serious that i need to see a doctor for that.

Several people have already suggested some good things to try, but here are some more: Hot apple juice, zinc lozenges (more of a directly-applied painkiller than a remedy), aloe vera juice (probably you don't have that on hand), cayenne pepper (put it in your food - don't try to eat it plain ;-P).

Get a bowl of hot water and pour in some eucalyptus oil. Put a towel over the bowl and stick your head in there. Christian Graus - Microsoft MVP - C++ Metal Musings - Rex and my new metal blog

It's a ripper if you've got a cold, my mum used to do it. It helps the throat tho, eucalyptus is great for that, that's why so many throat lozenges are eucalyptus and honey or eucalyptus and lemon. That's why you don't see koalas with sore throats. Besides the time/rest/honey & lemon/eucalyptus already suggested, echinacea-zinc lozenges help with curing and Thayer's slippery elm bark lozenges help with relieving pain. Gargle an aspirin, that helps reduce the irritation a little. The tigress is here :-D

green chili is the local cure for all minor ailments... the chili has a combination of Vitamin C which is already known to help fight disease, Capsaicin which also has some interesting properties (including helping healing, and making you forget your other problems). _________________________ Asu no koto o ieba, tenjo de nezumi ga warau. you can also replace the eucalyptus oil with Tiger Balm. (http://www.tigerbalm.com[^]) but take care, it is a lot stronger....

I was in recently, and they suggested the following: 1. No caffeine 2. Gargle 2-3 times a day with warm salt water 3. Eat some Vitamin C - 1000 mg per day 4. Cepacol tablets for relieving the pain I've seen better runs in my shorts! - Patches O'Houlihan
