I'm taking a day trip up to Los Angeles today with my parents. Dad's got some business up in the Glendale office, and he invited Mom and I to drive up with him. Tomorrow, I'm going to a friend's high school graduation. Other than that, nothing much. Worrying about my grades for this quarter too...those will probably come in on Tuesday, though. So I'm not fretting over them too much.

And when we saw the computer, when we saw its code - and Turing saw it first - we were looking at complexity incarnate. And then suddenly we saw complexity everywhere. It materialized, it crystalized around us - even though it had always been there.
We have yet to recover from the shock.

Weekends are great - I get a chance to stop programming for a bit, and, well, do some other programming really. Actually, I do half a day on the property, half the day doing something with the kids, and the rest is spent in the office, on the PC. I'm going to an antique car and plane show tomorrow. I'll spend a good bit of the weekend finally getting back to learning C#, doing house chores, reading, and trying to avoid my neighbor who's building a fence this weekend. BW

Home improvement project. Finish window casings, crown molding, etc. I have a couple hours of wood cutting and hanging left, then I get to prime and paint it all. Spot paint in the baby's room - walls are marked up from my first child. I have to make it look nice for the second child now. Lawn work - mow, weed & feed, grub killer. Work I have a lot to get done before they baby comes.

My favorate martial arts are those "Internal Styles" (ref[^]) for example Chen Style Tai-chi (my family name is "Chen" ;) ) and Aikido. I don't prefer those too much "external" like Thai boxing. But I have to say that this movie reveals the way using Thai boxing very well !! :-D

And when we saw the computer, when we saw its code - and Turing saw it first - we were looking at complexity incarnate. And then suddenly we saw complexity everywhere. It materialized, it crystalized around us - even though it had always been there.
We have yet to recover from the shock.

Unless he's using smaller values of 1/2.

I've signed up to learn a Chain Whip[^] kata on saturday. My wife thinks this thing is the "red rider bb rifle" of the martial arts world and that I'm destined to whip my eye out. It should be good for a challenge to say the least.

I can imagine the sinking feeling one would have after ordering my book, only to find a laughably ridiculous theory with demented logic once the book arrives - Mark McCutcheon
