Does anyone know of a free service that will provide maps? It doesn't have to be great, just show something that's roughly in the right area :-) I need to be able to supply it with a lat/long in an HTTP GET request and have it serve up a map. Yahoo! is a bit clumsy and really only works with a POST (they say you can embed an XML string in the HTTP GET request but it doesn't work) and Google Maps is all JavaScript.

0 bottles of beer on the wall, 0 bottles of beer, you take 1 down, pass it around, 4294967295 bottles of beer on the wall. Awasu 2.2.2 [^]: A free RSS/Atom feed reader with support for Code Project.

Are you planning to use it within a desktop app? You can use Microsoft Virtual Earth. Here is a sample: http://www.viavirtualearth.com/VVE/Gallery/Winforms2.ashx[^]

No, I just need to be able to embed a link in an HTML page (but I only want a simple href, no JavaScript). Thanks anyway. The other guys have come up with some good suggestions.

That's just the ticket. I was hoping for a map rather than satellite but this'll do just fine. Thanks! This reply was supposed to be for Nitron! Sigh...
