Jesus H. Christ. I actually agreed that the time for the things you listed has passed. But I also picked apart how it didn't answer my question. The original assertion that whites are being asked to ignore whites in order to support other races is pure hyperbole, and I couldn't let it to go unchallenged. Here's what it all comes down to for me: 1. There is no such thing as race. It is a scientifically invalid concept. (In other words: there is more variation within a so called "race" than there is between races, so there's no point in paying attention to race.) 2. Racists still exist. And you don't have to be white to be one. 3. Whites still have the power in this country, but then we are a mostly white country. Minorities used to have zero power, and this has changed dramatically through extraordinary efforts by people of all races. We are not there yet. (See #2.) 4. If given a level playing field, skewing things in favor for minorities only perpetuates inferiority. 5. When not given a level playing field, those who are in power and making the field unlevel should be forced to make it level. 6. If you believe everything is now on a level field for everybody, you live in a fantasy world.

It's not hyperbole when where you work, live or go to school "diversity" is chosen over "ability". BTW, "diversity" is the new name for "affirmative action". And I know quite a few white guys who got shafted because of "diversity". Mike Poz

Racism is looking at a Black person and say "they are different to me". Why do people have to be white Americans or Black Americans. Why cant you look at a Black person and say "there goes my American brother"? Your background does not define you as a person. You poor little hate filled person. Because too many times I have personally heard black men abuse white men for saying that they are brothers. Want to hear something funny? Until I graduated from high school and enlisted in the Marines, I had no idea I was racist. I just thought I was a fair skinned American who had white, black, asian, latin (and a mix of all those) friends and neighbors. It was pointed out to me by a number of black Marines from the south that since I'm white, I am racist because I didn't "understand the black man" and because I didn't feel "sorry for the abuses heaped upon the black man in the form of slavery." Which just goes to show that there are idiots of every colour. I would say the same thing to them. They should recognise that you have a lot in common and not focus on the differences. You were all Americans serving your country. We have similar issues here with our Aboriginal population. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear

Sorry, I meant seeing them as a different kind of person based on their appearance and as you say treating them differently as a result. The point I wnt to make is we should recognise the similarities between ourselves and others and not concentrate on the differences. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear

Ummm....how would I tell them? Messenger piggion perhaps? I dont think then tend to hang around here much. I doubt there are many of them that feel that way but as usual you only see the extremes. I would imagine that is directed more at the policy of your goverenment than a blanket statement about American people. Hell if they meant all American people that would include all the non illigal immigrants from their own country. Objects in mirror are closer than they appear

Most white Americans have bent over backwards to achieve that. As with most things (Muslims for example) we aren't the ones who need the lectures. "You get that which you tolerate"

Racism - a belief that race is the primary determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race How could you be racist based on sex, sexual preference, or age? That would make no sense. As far as bigoted, i dont see how you could be bigoted against someone based on age or sex, but i do not like homosexuals. I dont want to lecure anyone. Thats my opinion and it applies to everyone regardless of religion or race or sex etc. I dont think any group deserve a lecure more than others Objects in mirror are closer than they appear

Well I do. White America can only give so much. It is precisely the same situation with Muslims. The 'nicer' you try to be to accomodate modern sensibilities the more empowered the agrieved populations are to take advantage of that attempt at rectifying past injustice. For example, blacks murdering whites is never characterized as a 'hate' crime. A white killing a black always is. I'm expected to cooperate with a system that puts me and my family at a serious legal disadvantage. If I chose to oppose such a system, I'm a racist. From my perspective its a lose-lose situation. Mouthing grand sounding new-age platitudes might make some left-leaning individuals feel more morally secure but it doesn't begin to address the reality of the situation.
