Does anyone use a Free Tool for learning about UML? It seems like I might need to get to grips with UML to be able to follow my C# self-learning examples. Am strapped for cash at the moment and work are tighter than a duck's rear :) Thanks in advance. Now settling down to constantly press Refresh on the Italy vs Aussie match updates on bbc.co.uk sport. Go Italy :):):) I still remember having to write your own code in FORTRAN rather than be a cut and paste merchant being pampered by colour coded Intellisense - ahh proper programming - those were the days :)

Jude/community[^] is simple and easy to use, so it is very convenient for learning UML, although it doesn't completely cover all aspects of UML. you could also try ArgoUML[^] or Poseidon (community version)[^].

Does it have to have C# integrated? I had looked at Posiedon sveral years ago http://gentleware.com/index.php[^] Also I had looked at Argo http://argouml.tigris.org/[^] My conclusion was Sparx's Enterprise Architect is very resonably priced and was worth the money, even for my own usage. (How ever I can not say I was strapped for cash at the time.) http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/[^] "Yes I know the voices are not real. But they have some pretty good ideas."

For UML tutorials you can visit http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/[^] After that, learn about design patterns, visit http://www.bradapp.net/[^] There are many other web sites to visit for tutorials including IBM, Microsoft and Sun, and please do not forget tutorials on Architectural Design Patterns.

You traitorous bastard. I'm sitting home watching it live on TV drinking longnecks (750ml bottle) of Southwark Old Stout[^]. No the missus is feeling crook, so she only gave me a single today. Tomorrow I'll put the hard word on her again for a double, a triple may be beyond me now at my age. As for no posts for a while I have worked the following hours in the last week and it finally caught up with me. Wed - 16:00 - 09:00 (17 hours) Thu - 23:00 - 11:00 (12 hours) Fri - 23:00 - 09:00 (10 hours) Sat - 17:00 - 12:00 (19 hours) I had a nap Sunday afternoon before spending some time with the kids. Today I went out during the day with the wife while the kids were at school. Then I spent a bit of time fixing computers, watching X-Men 2 and then the soccer and finally posting here.
