    Surely you'd try google before Code Guru?

    LOL the only way I ever end up on CodeGuru is via a search engine. It's too ghastly to navigate in any other way.

    Or maybe you're not one of the die-hard CPians who checks Google before checking CP!

    It varies. Most of the questions I need answering are pretty hardcore Visual Studio automation/extensibility questions, and unfortunately I'm unlikely to find an answer to those on CP anyway. Anna :rose: Currently working mostly on: Visual Lint :cool: Anna's Place | Tears and Laughter "Be yourself - not what others think you should be" - Marcia Graesch "Anna's just a sexy-looking lesbian tart" - A friend, trying to wind me up. It didn't work.

    Well you can solve those problems for other people by writing articles on the stuff you've discovered.

      Is that the site where they have a 500x500 size banner smack in the middle of the articles X|

      I had to disable flash to use the forum there because otherwise the ads used 100% of my cpu time until the browser crashed.

        Do most people here use CodeGuru too ? or just CodeProject ? Just wondering as I normally post articles to both sites but am beginning to question whether that's worth the effort. regards,

          I don't like the big, long picture in the center. It's difficult to find where the article is. Best, Jun

              I think I am going to concentrate on Code Project and ignore CodeGuru as the adverts are horrible and far too in-your-face. thanks for the replies everyone. regards,

                    I used it before CodeProject, ahem I mean CodeTools started, but once Chris started this site, I haven't returned. Hmmm... I wonder how many different logins I've lost through the years. A side question: How many people remember when this was starting on the WinDev mailing list?

                      By 'this' do you mean CP? I recall some of Chris' letters and such to/from CodeGuru that he was rather 'upset' and leaving to do something on his own. I am glad he left. I rarely go to CoduGuru any more, perhaps not even from a google search. The last time I was there I got really frustrated with the forums and then wading through the articles or trying to see post/replies related to the articles, it was just wasting my time X| I've seen better runs in my shorts! - Patches O'Houlihan

                        Yeah, "this site" means Code Project. When he left CG to start this site it started out as CodeTools. But then changed the name. I like CodeProject better. I never liked CodeGuru due to its unusability. Too clunky and resource intensive, and way too many ads. At least here the ads are on the sidelines and don't consume too much.

                          Back in its hey-day Codeguru used to a good stop off point. I remember a while back it was sold off and its gone downhill ever since. Some of the old content is still good reference material though. Its a shame. Competition after all is good. ade me; while(myKitchen.beerInFridge() == true) { me.watchTV(); me.consumeBeer(myKitchen.getBeerCan()); }
