Learning Chinese

It is kind of exciting when I can read some Chinese characters on the sign around China town. The 1,2,3 in Chinese is unexpectedly easy:)

I don't know, since Afghanistan is the default/first selection from the list on my profile, I just left it that way. Besides, how to see someone's profile???

I just had my third lesson today. It is hard to learn, but hard to forget, since there are almost always a reason on why a word is constructed that way. For instance, the word "good" in chinese is actually a combination of the word "son" and "daughter" in Chinese. This somehow reflects how the Chinese think: having a son and daughter is good. :) Anyone learning Chinese too?

I just had my third lesson today. It is hard to learn, but hard to forget, since there are almost always a reason on why a word is constructed that way. For instance, the word "good" in chinese is actually a combination of the word "son" and "daughter" in Chinese. This somehow reflects how the Chinese think: having a son and daughter is good. :) Anyone learning Chinese too?
I'm reeeeaallly wanting to learn Chinese. or Japanese, doesnt matter. more Japanese. but meh. Do you think its possible to learn it just by yourself, without special clases? rara avis in terris

I wanted to learn Chinese and asked one of my friends what was thw best way to go about learning the language. He told me to get a Chinese girlfriend! ;)
