It would give more credibility to the "free oppressed people from their dictators" angle; it seems like Iraq was only "freed" because of oil money. As much as I criticize the USA for their wrongdoings, I know that they'd never do something as stupid as shoot people for watching a freakin' football match on TV. Well, its their country, and if they outlaw homosexuality, it is their choice. The UK outlaws paedophilia, New Guinnea doesnt. Does that make the UK less funcitonal? I take funcitonal to mean self sufficient in terms of wealth production (which Palestine isnt. It is totally dependent on US and EU aid). Trade with neighbours and stability of government (somewhat goes with the first 2 points). Tronché pas ma miche!
