    Apparently it's cos it takes so much of the body's energy to digest the food you've just eaten, that it makes it a "High Priority Task", and evertything else gets switched to a lower priority thread "Now I guess I'll sit back and watch people misinterpret what I just said......"         Because you eat too much, and too many carbs, which are rapidly digested and create a sugar rush and then the body overcompensates and you end up with no energy. Instead, eat a smaller, more balanced meal of protein, carbs, and fat. And do a little physical activity too. Walk around to block (of course, the block around my house a 2.5 mile walk).           Maybe you're eating too much carbs, protein or fat, and giving your body a hard time digesting all that: this makes your body slower. Reduce the ammount you're eating on lunch, and add a bit more raw salad. Avoid things like lettuce and passion fruit that are known to make you sleepy. If you don't do it yet, end the lunch with a fruit. Reduce your lunch and add a snack or a light sandwich 3 hours later. If you're already doing this, or after doing this for 5 days, you don't feel better, go see a doctor...

                  I take a 20 min "power" nap at the end of lunch whenever possible. I stay alert until the end of the work day (going home wakes me up pretty well, too). My work discourages people from napping at work, even on their lunch break, so I showed my boss that some of the bigger bosses (director's and VP's) do it and I would quit taking power naps if he told them to quit taking power naps. I have my naps during lunch when I can. Good luck on staying awake :zzz:

                              Sorry I love that wiki parody. Anyway there was an article in Reader's Digest several years back addressing the issue of naps in the workplace. They described a study in which productivity was measured between the control and workers who got a 1 hour nap after lunch. The workers with the nap were more productive.                                 Welcome to the real world! you are human :-D I've heard that somewhere in Asia I think, the people use to sleep 1 hour after lunch. Well in most of countries this doesn't happen, so u gotta work if u are asleep or not. I suggest comfortable job place, I mean a good chair and good temperature room (19ºC - 21ºC) One kind of suggestion: try reducing amount of food at lunch! :laugh: I use keyboard and a mouse... or are they using me?
