Yeah, speaking of that - what's the word on allowing HTML in your blog comments? You just don't realize how limiting it is to have to harass you in plain text...

Obviously, we need some sort of combined David Wulff / David Stone to produce a slick forum system written in C# w/ LINQ and an AJAX-heavy UI w/ plenty of keyboard shortcuts and RTE.

Ugh. Do you ever use those RTEs? I always turn it off in WordPress installations and in GMail. Haven't used an RTE that felt natural and didn't get in the way of my uber, leet, superior Web-Bling 2.0 HTML skillz. Then again, I'd edit Word documents at the markup level if I could... :~ regards, Paul Watson Ireland FeedHenry needs you

I have a small site with a blog-like feature on the front page. It is unique in that each post contains the exact same table structure, the only difference being the number of rows. So, I am able to use a template to insert the table for me, and then I just add contents to the table like I would in a Word doc. It (the editor) has an image picker that allows me to upload pictures straight to the server. It saves me a bunch of time vs hand editing and uploading pics via FTP. For any situation other than that, though, I'd have to go with a plain text box and HTML or BBCode. Jon Sagara When I grow up, I'm changing my name to Joe Kickass! My Site | My Blog | My Articles

I went there to play in a rock & roll band after I quit my first semester of college in '76. We gigged in Morgan City, Thibodaux, Houma, all those big nationally known hot spots. We drove up to New Orleans to party in the Quarter, but didn't play there. My memory of the girls there is that they were amazingly binary. Either they were drop dead ugly or there was something almost magical about them (I naturally gravitated towards the latter). There was no in between. And yeah, Morgan City is about as far south as you can go without being eaten alive by dragons. Or shot by drunk off shore oil workers, but that's a story for another time... ;) Author of The Career Programmer and Unite the Tribes

May 25, 2006 is the version in my script.  Is that the latest? (Yes, I have used it, and it's a nice piece of work.)

Thanks. :) Anything you'd like to see done to it?

The first indication of trouble is usually when my sentences begin with, "All I wanted to do was..." I like the CP threaded forum approach. I find it much more intuitive to follow the train of thought than in the more common monolithic style of discussion board. For years now I've used David Wulff's excellent forum software. However, as I live in a C# / .NET world with my sites these days, I'd really like to find something similar to CP / Battle Axe Forums in a .NET / C# (and free) model. There seems to be a ton of stuff out there. Much of it is ambitiously priced. Those that are free are rarely C# / .NET. And the few that are use the monolithic format rather than the threaded method favored by CP. How freakin' hard can this be? Is there truly no forum code out there that meets this criteria? It's far too tempting to just sit down and code something myself. Fortunately, I don't have that kind of time. Any ideas, or am I just looking for a holy grail that doesn't exist? They're still busy guarding that stupid cup. However, I don't think they would sully their otherwise checkered reputations by working for Microsoft (or for the benefit of a Microsoft product).
