Talking of membership rankings...

Must be a bug :suss:. Since; overnight I've become a Gold Member and only posted a few new messages. Based on the text at the bottom I shouldn't become a Gold Member until I reach 1,000 messages. Correct me if I'm wrong :~ Not that I'm complaining, but it's another bug for Chris & Co to sort out .
Formula 1 - Short for "F1 Racing" - named after the standard "help" key in Windows, it's a sport where participants desperately search through software help files trying to find actual documentation. It's tedious and somewhat cruel, most matches ending in a draw as no participant is able to find anything helpful. - Shog9 Ed

More than 500 messages posted (you have 960): Bronze to Silver. 1 year of membership: Silver to Gold :)

I thought that 500 messages to go from Silver to Gold were taken at the 1000 mark not the 501. Since I've had for a while >500 messages, 1 article and >1 year membership. It went from Bronze > Silver when I had more than 1 year membership. Never mind
The Welsh will always support two teams: The Welsh, and anyone playing England :)

that is not true. I became Gold member 1-2 days before. I have posted 662 messages and submitted one article and i am a member since Wednesday 17th December, 2003. I have already posted a query regarding the same in Lounge. but it went in it's way... :( SaRath.

The number of articles gives your base level. Each lot of 500 messages gives one bonus level, and each year of membership gives one bonus level. You've got 1 article = bronze, plus 1 lot of 500 messages = silver, plus 1 year membership = gold. Simple :)

"Each 500 messages posted adds one level, and if a user has posted a message then each year of membership adds 1 level." You have been a member for 2 years, 7 months. What is it that it's so unclear to you?! regards, Mircea Many people spend their life going to sleep when they’re not sleepy and waking up while they still are.

The system for updating rankings was offline for a couple of weeks. I rewrote it yesterday and fired it up. Nothing exploded so it passes QA. cheers, Chris Maunder

Not exactly sure how it works. I was a Bronze member with 640 or so messages and then all the sudden went to Silver. After about 10 more messages, I was a Gold Member. I didn't start posting messages until about this time last year, though I have been a member since 2004.
