I'll give you a hint....there was no point! I have to back up making fun of the Mac commercials?

if there was no point, why are you getting so defensive about it?

    Let's execute on the customer-facing market-driven swim-lane paradigm!

I wasn't going after anything specific other than I hate Macs, especially their crass commercials. Steve Jobs is a job. Someone should pick up that egocentric terd and drop him on the border between Israel & Lebanon (if you could find it today) with a Star of David on the front of his t-shirt and a swastika.

I'm not fond of their new commecrials either, but what is actually wrong with you? Rather than plotting killings go see a shrink... Apple is about choice, so you have a CHOICE between them [Apple], and a generic PC such as a DELL or HP, or you can build your own where you pick your own chip, motherboard, video card, etc. and have it run linux... *Bursts into song* "Freedom of Choice" by DEVO, to irritate you further* Roswell;P

Now *THAT* is funny. Apple is about choice: You can only run their OS on their hardware. You can only buy music from their store, using their software. you can only play their music on their software or their hardware. You can only burn CDs of music from their store using their software. Yeah, that's choice. Can't say much about Zune, not enough info available, but other MS encrypted music offerings and device offerings are: You can pick any service except iTunes. You can pick any device that supports WMA with DRM. There are a variety of software products available to play those protected WMA tracks and burn those tracks to CD. Some services offer a "you don't have to buy the content if you don't want to burn it, you can rent it instead, so that you always have the latest available music tracks. Although you can buy tracks for the same price or less as you would pay at iTunes." Yeah, choice. In this particular case, it's Microsoft that made choice a possibility, not Apple.

You've just listed half the reasons my mp3 player isn't an ipod. The other was that my $150 would get 4 gigs of sandisk cheap model vs 1gig of ipod nano. The 4gig nano was $240. The 1gig nano was $150. Granted the nano had more toys, but all useless ones IMO. Looking at photos on a screen smaller than a digicam's just stupid, and as far as showing album art while playing goes, it's in my pocket so why bother.

So I can't exaggerate or use hyperbole without being told I need a psychiatrist? And what's wrong with the one I am seeing. He's not going to like your comment. Well, Mac seems to make it seem like there isn't any choice. Unless of course you are someone who only does spreadsheets. I've worked on both systems and you couldn't pay me to work on a Mac again, especially since I am a Web Developer. What ever happened to Lasso, what a great server application that was.

Ah ok. We are in the same boat then, and sorry about my comment. I was in as much of a bad mood as yourself.:-O Actually i think new Macs are real junk compared to what they were about 6 years ago. I miss the old OS which in my experience was designed much better for everyday use than what they have now. They had years to work out the bugs on the old one, even though it was emulated on PowerPC rather than being written for that architecture. Now we have [OS] X(not to be confused with the GUI app xFree on open source unix distributions) with kernel panics and all the "iSeries" software is slow even on a fast machine. It's all so bloated now X| Basically i stick with OS 9 and i'm not moving on.:~ I use Macs for work rather than fun so their "aqua" GUI theme really bugs me. Since i work in Photoshop a lot i keep the desktop color at 50% grey and i don't like to have the window borders all the flashy colors either. It gets in the way because the colors you already see affect your color preception and therefore the final result. As far as my Web Dev work goes, i do it on both platforms so i can test it and guarantee it will work properly on any machine. Like yourself i mostly use a PC for my work, but thet's because i haven't had the time or the money to fix my Powerbook. I have to put in a new motherboard and superglue the harddrive side of the case before i can do anyhting with it... Roswell

Much like the PC/Windows beat the snot out of the then superior Apple Computer Zune will wipe the floor with iPod. It's about two things for the consumer, content(availability) and price. For another perfect example: BetaMax and VHS. The moment all of the content providers (Hollywood) embraced VHS BetaMax was dead

WinTune? WinMusic? WinPlayer? WinStream? Oh, here's a good one, WinPod... Whatever happened to the win moniker...? Can it kill the iPod? Where does a 50,000,000,000 pound gorilla sleep? In Redmond, WA.
