Just now, I went for lunch at Subway for the first time. I was shock at the number of questions i have to answer to order my meal. I am used to those mc donalds style where i just need to tell them what meal i want. Instead in Subway, i need to tell them what type of sandwich, size, toppings, etc. And thats not he end, before paying i still need to tell them whether i want to trade chips for cookies. wth!! I just want a meal.

Subway is ass. but i prefer to dislike them for the food they serve.

Subway sucks anyway, why eat there? Seriously that was the dumbest post ever.

Exactly. And after all those questions, they still put the wrong toppings on the wrong meats on the wrong bread with the wrong cookies. Go figure. And if I want oil & vinegar, I'll order a darn salad, thank you. Marc

On the funny side, i overheard one lady's order. When the staff asked her about the size of the sandwich she wants, (I think she must be distracted or its her first time) she said 6 feet. LMAO.

:-D I just did that last week. As was said already, they do make 6' sandwiches, but I was torn between getting a 6" or a foot long and ordered the 6 foot sandwich. My buddy looked at me and said, "Err.. ya a little hungry, B?" As far as having the options, I don't see the problem. It's just a sandwich and your topping options are pretty standard and right in front of you. The bread and meat typically sucks, though so I'll go Quiznos or just buy my own stuff at the grocery store.

Depends on who’s working the local subway, I often grunt / point and the female clerk just makes what is in the picture for me. :) I don’t go to Subway all that often as I think Jimmy Johns and Quizno’s make a much better sandwich.

I'd love to help, but unfortunatley I have prior commitments monitoring the length of my grass. :Andrew Bleakley:

Absolutely. I'm trying to convert some co-workers, but Subway is just outside the front door at work, so it's a tough sell when we have to actually drive to Quizno's.

I love Subway because they ask Do you want this or that? Which of these would you like? Do you want it toasted? What type of bread do you want? etc. I can taylor the sandwich to exactly the way I want it. Brilliant!

Then buy a prepackaged sandwich in a supermarket.

I guess I am odd... I don't want a house pre-packaged and a clone of everyone else's, I want to choose my own components to a computer, I want the car that I want, not the car that everyone else wants, and I want the meal the way I want it. If you go to a restaurant they will ask you how you want your steak cooked... baked potato, rice or fries? wheat or white roll? These are things I guess I am just accustomed to, I guess I just tend to minimize the #2 combo bins.... :-D

Is that when I go to Quiznos they try to dictate to me the order in which I should order my sandwhich. I want a Large Traditional on Wheat w/mayo instead of ranch, no onions, no olives, togo. Not: Togo, Wheat, large, traditional, w/mayo instead of ranch, no onions, no olives. They should interpret what I speak in the order I speak it. [Actually, they do because I refuse to pander]

Why? It's healthier and tastes a whole heap better than most fast food places. And you actually get to choose what you want for lunch, rather than having the choice made for you. What's so bad about that?

That reminds me of the american movies. In those motion pictures they always scarf their meal. They never put it on a plate, eat with knife and fork. In Belgium it's the opposite. A full meal needs two or three hours. In Germany we are normaly in the middle, except for those people of course who buy some crap from McDonalds or Burger King. I like Subway. When I eat fast food, it's the only choice for me. So every second month or so, when I need something fast, I'll go there and I think it's quiet good for fast food. Regards, Ingo

Well, surely that's a sign you can get exactly what you want ? Subway is an overpriced sandwhich, but they have lots of options on the wall that you can point to and say 'I want that one'.

Subway is still cheaper than, say, BaySwiss and other sandwich places. A Subway Meal is around AU$7-8 (including a cookie and soft drink) while BaySwiss sandwich is already $8. Granted, BaySwiss uses better quality ingredients (I love the cheese they use).
