Hi, I'm about to transition from my current role of Snr Software Engineer / Developer into a lead Architect role. My question is about Architect courses, specifically for a .Net environment and preferably in the NYC area, have any of you been on any such courses, how were they etc. etc. Thanks,

 maybe I wasn't clear when I mentioned Snr Software Eng --> Architect (meaning enterprise software architecture). However, thanks for the link, if I decide to change career I will keep that in mind (I used to enjoy technical drawing and such at school).

Have you visited Microsoft. They have enterprise architecture tutorials available for free download via http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnea/html/eaarchover.asp?frame[^]. If your looking for architectural and design patterns, visit http://patternshare.org/default.aspx/Home.HomePage[^] Look at Zachman Enterprise Architecture Framework tutorials. And tutorials from Sun (EJB Design Patterns). Also http://www.eaipatterns.com/toc.html[^] and http://serg.cs.drexel.edu/publications/[^] For business rules architecture visit http://www.brcommunity.com/[^] As well as "Thinking in Patterns" from Mindview. And for a recent "forrester report" The Future Of Enterprise Software from http://www.forrester.com/Research/Document/Excerpt/0,7211,38014,00.html[^]
