Your dev machine?

Whats your office development machine you use to work on daily? Mine's a P3-1Ghz, 256MB, 40GB, Matrox G550, NEC MultiSync LCD 1850E 18,1" :omg: , running W2K Prof.
I have two main ones, both are Dell P-400, 256Meg memory. Various hard drive sizes. Main dev. machine, Visual 6.0, Windows NT 4.0. Other dev. machine contains images of a bunch of OSes (gotta love that universal MSDN license.. :) ), including a Spanish Windows XP and SuSE Linux. Not exactly a multi-boot machine but along the same lines. This is mostly for test but for some development. But soon to replace the first machine, I'll be getting a 1.6GHz Dell Laptop with 512M memory. :jig: recursive adj. See RECURSIVE.

I use a dual PIII 800MHz, 640MB RDRAM, 3-18GB SCSI harddrives, Matrox G400, 21" CRT running on Win2000. It definitely pays to work in the Engineering department of a PC manufacturer. :) Kelly Herald Software Developer Micronpc, LLC

Dual PIII 1GHz, 1G RDRAM, 64M GeForce3, 2 70G hot-swap SCSI160 HDD, hot-swap power-supplies, NEC 21" monitor, NT4. It's not that great - the monitor has a conniption every 4 hours or so and forgets to place the image in the middle of the screen. Mine: P2-300, 192MB, 20GB, 32MB TNT2Ultra, Sound Blaster Live Value, 19" Samsung Synchmaster 950p. It's not the size of the processor that counts... Cheers, Simon

Chris, I understand the theory of dual-CPU systems, but in practice, how's the dual-CPU setup doing with development tasks? Worth it?
i'm not sure it improves the build process by itself (i don't know if the compiler is multi-threaded at all, or enough to matter), but i can easily build and surf at the same time with no lag! -c
