Besides a great Jethro Tull song, what kind of personality are you? Do you live more in the past, the present, or the future? Me, I'm a "future" kind of person, always excited about some new possibility. However, there are certain things in the past I simply can't seem to move past (or, erm, is that "beyond"?). Marc

Yes. I live in the present, looking expectantly ahead and regretfully behind.

I once tried living five seconds in the future, but then I always knew what people were going to say and it made them mad.

I'm a future person for the most part. I can rejoice in future possibilities almost as much as present realities. I always look at things how they could be, or the "ideal state" that they resemble, sometimes to the neglect of paying attention to how they are. I suppose that's what one might call an idealist or a visionary. I suppose that's part of being an INFTP (i.e. a mix of INTP[^] and INFP[^]). Oh yes, and here's the mandatory Dickens quote: "I will live in the Past, the Present, and the Future. The Spirits of all Three shall strive within me. I will not shut out the lessons that they teach." - Ebenezer Scrooge

 My favorite Dickens piece. Well, okay. It's the only piece Dickens wrote that I liked. The man seriously needed some Prozac.

Hmmmm... good point. In that case you might want to consider alternatives to living in the past, present or future.

For entertainment, I read in the future (science fiction), run/bike in the present, and watch movies in the past (I  costume epics).

Well, to actually answer your question, I live in the present, enjoy the past and work for a better future. I take that is close to what you ment with your answer, not living in the future.

I am truly shocked and surprised.... ;) By the lakes that thus outspread Their lone waters, lone and dead,- Their sad waters, sad and chilly With the snows of the lolling lily,- By the mountains- near the river Murmuring lowly, murmuring ever,- By the grey woods,- by the swamp Where the toad and the newt encamp- By the dismal tarns and pools Where dwell the Ghouls,- By each spot the most unholy- In each nook most melancholy- There the traveller meets aghast Sheeted Memories of the Past- Shrouded forms that start and sigh As they pass the wanderer by- White-robed forms of friends long given, In agony, to the Earth- and Heaven. Yeah, Ed had a drinking problem.... possibly more, we'll never know for sure. The one guy with the most evidence of more than a "drinking" problem also hated Edgar's guts and everything that poured from it, so he can hardly be considered an unbiased reference. :) Still... dying without even your own clothes on your back... it does seem like more than just alcohol. Of course there is always the Rabies theory too... http://www.umm.edu/news/releases/news-releases-17.html[^]

Marc
